This chief was the father of Chief Winnemucca and grandfather of Sarah Winnemucca. The first Europeans who came to cross the Sierra Nevada encountered his tribe and the friendly Chief rode toward them yelling “Tro-kay!” This means, “everything is alright,” in Paiute.
